Holiday Tips and A Little Homemade Guacamole
So, with the holidays here are just some important reminders to keep you focused on your goals:
- Moderation is key and remember to enjoy your holiday meals, focusing on portion size and eat mindfully.
- Remember to fill half that plate with vegetables and fruits, a quarter size of the plate should be filled with protein (25%) and a quarter size of whole grains (25%).
- If you opt for a desert, try to stick to one serving. The key is not to overindulge!
- Water, water, water- try to get in 8 glasses per day.
- Don’t forget to get that activity in throughout the break for at least 30 minutes a day for 6 days a week. Engage in something that you enjoy- whether it be walking, jogging, dancing, yoga, kickboxing, strength training or whatever it is you choose, just do it!
